Nebula Classification

Nebula Classification is the process by which Starfleet categorizes the nebulas that are encountered.

Class Description
Class 1 nebulas are small nebulas that are known to contain trace elements and, at times, protomatter.
A Class 2 nebula emits high energy photons that cause sensors, shields and weapons to become non-functional.
Class 3 nebulas traditionally have some type of Subspace Phenomena near the center that affect the surrounding gas.
Class 4 nebulas are interstellar gas clouds with intense gravimetric distortions.
Class 5 nebulas are large, hydrogen clouds.
Class 6 nebulas are generate their own light due to the very hot young stars inside.
Class 7 nebulas -have a high concentration of tachyon particles.
Class 8 nebulas (also known as a stellar nursery) are areas known for intense ultraviolet radiation and multiple stars being formed.
Class 9 nebulas traditionally have corrosive constituent compounds and elements that can corrupt sensors.
Class 10 nebulas are traditionally dark nebulas known for their high concentrations of deuterium and other ionized gases.
Class 11 nebulas consist of oxygen and argon with trace amounts of theta-xenon, fluorine, and sirillium.
Class 12 nebulas contain high amounts of particle flux, causing a vessel to only remain inside safely for a period of 3 days.
Class 13 nebulas are nebulas known for high concentrations of dangerous radiation.
Class 14 nebulas are dangerous nebulae that contain high concentrations of explosive metreon gas that can destroy vessels transiting through them.
Class 15 nebulas, also known as Mutara Nebulas, are highly concentrated nebulas that disable sensors and shields.
Class 16 nebulas are newly formed nebulas.
Class 17 nebulas are larger versions of Class 11 nebula and consist of oxygen and argon with trace amounts of theta-xenon, fluorine, and sirillium.
Class 18 nebulas are interstellar gas clouds created by the expelled matter of a star reaching then end of its life.
Class 19 nebulas are dangerous nebulae that generate volatile electric currents that delay vessels transiting through them.
Class 20 nebulas are small clouds of mostly hydrogen, helium, and argon.
Class 21 nebulas are and accumulation of gaseous materials that are difficult to detect using sensors.
Class 22 nebulas contain an atypical radiation that can cause biological cells to regenerate.
