Spatial Anomalies
Spatial Anomalies
- Badlands
- Located on the outskirts of the Cardassian Union, the Badlands is a spatial anomaly of extreme navigational instability and plagued with dangerous plasma storms.
- Briar Patch
- Located near the Klingon Empire, the Briar Patch is a dangerous region featuring multiple anomalies and dangerous pockets of metreon gas that is unable to be navigated except for by vessels specially modified to operate in the region.
- Cosmic String
- A narrow filament, no wider than a single particle, that generates a gravitational field as strong as a black hole.
- Dark Matter
- Frequently concentrated in nebulas or as the byproduct stellar consolidation, Dark Matter creates small gaps in space and creates electrical currents similar to a subspace distortion but without a subspace field.
- Galactic Barrier
- The Galactic Barrier is an energy field that surrounds the Milky Way Galaxy.
- Graviton Ellipse
- A subspace phenomenon that is potentially billions of years old, a Graviton Ellipse is attracted to electromagnetic radiation and absorbs objects inside that will travel with them indefinitely.
- Great Barrier
- Located at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy, the Great Barrier is an energy field surrounding the Galactic Core.
- Ion Storm
- Relatively common, Ion Storms are a phenomenon that can cause damage to objects that come into contact with them.
- Maelstrom
- Located on the border of the Cardassian Union, the Romulan Republic, and the United Federation of Planets, the Maelstrom is an area of subspace tears, quantum destabilization and high radioactivity.
- Neutronic Wavefront
- Caused when two neutron stars collide, a Neutronic Wavefront is a pulse that emanates out from the source as an energy wave.
- Nexus
- The Nexus is an energy wave that connects those who enter it with to idealized environment where their every wish is fulfilled.
- Null Space
- Formed when interstellar dust and gas coalesce, Null Space pockets are turbulent regions of high concentrations of magnetic and gravitational fields.
- Particle Fountain
- Extremely dangerous, Particle Fountains are ruptures in space characterized by extreme energy discharges that can overwhelm and destroy those encountering it.
- Plasma Drift
- Plasma Drifts are large phenomenon that can be traversed, but are known for turbulence and sensor interference.
- Quantum Filament
- Potentially hundreds of meters in size, a Quantum Filament is a region of space that can cause significant damage to a vessel and is extremely difficult to detect.
- Quantum Fissure
- A Quantum Fissure is a fixed point across the spacetime continuum that intersects between multiple realities.
- Spatial Rift
- A Spatial Rift is a region of space characterized by neutrinos and chronotons and a gravimetric surges. In some situations these regions can destabilize an FTL Drive and cause areas of an object to exist in multiple timeframes at the same time.
- Temporal Rift
- A temporal rift is a distortion in the spacetime continuum that allows for temporal displacement.
